The room was faintly lit
A low humming filled the room
Her feet moved lazily, brushing back and forth in the air.
A few magazines were scattered across the floor, pages bent and folded.
The models who once beamed from the pages were gone. Their eyes full of shine were now missing, and so were their smiles that once were filled with pride…also missing, clean cuts that were intentional.
The laptop glow shined intensely over the young girl's face, she doesn't blink much, but just observes while she scrolls.
Her humming continues, There’s a small smirk resting on her lips. She was browsing a school website, she wasn't interested in the school ... .just the students, she viewed every available photo on that site.
She continues searching till the page freezes on particular photo of a young girl, with her name written in bold underneath the picture
Sienna Vale - Student Body President
The student had long brunette hair that framed her smooth olive skin, her face naturally smooth needing nothing but a tint of lip gloss. “Perfect” is what came into this mysterious girl's mind, her eyes shined in excitement as she gawked at the student's picture in admiration.
“your shine has got my attention, hope i can steal it from you soon”
A month later
She left her room behind, her small world fading as a temporary memory as she rushed to the campus. By the time she reached the hallway, it was already crowded, but she walked without a care in the world
Casually observing each student as she walked by, trying to find the …one.
Her tracks briefly stopped, when she heard a soft laughter, she twirled slightly, viewing each aspect of the corridor till she found where the laughter was coming from. Her lips swirled into a soft smile, when she finally found Sienna, near the lockers afar, giggling with her friends.
Bingo
Throughout the day, she tried to slip a small box tied with a pink ribbon in Sienna's bag, but unfortunately to her luck, Sienna managed to vanish every single time.
Frustration slowly crept in her. Time was running out.
At the end of the school day, she finally spotted Sienna again, laughing and gossiping with her friends. Her bag lay carelessly open near the entryway door.
“This is my only chance!”
Taking a deep breath, she moved forward in quiet steps. Her eyes flicked around the corridor, making sure no one was watching. She slipped behind Sienna, hoping her friends wouldn’t notice.
Quickly she places the small white box into the bag.
And then she was gone.

Sienna's point of view
“ okay girl's i have to go, catch you lot later” I waved to my friends.
I noticed my bag had been opened, so I closed it, grabbed it and rushed home. For some reason, my bag felt slightly heavier, but I didn't think twice. Maybe it's the book or me being tired from the lessons today.
When I got home, I immediately rushed to my bedroom, threw my bag on the side and jumped on the bed. I laid down with my eyes closed.
I took a deep breath and exhaled out in exhaustion.
“Ugh I am not excited for the upcoming projects”
Let me first eat, how will I concentrate on an empty stomach.
I headed to the kitchen and found leftover pizza in the fridge, thankfully. I heated it up, went back to my bedroom, and munched on it happily.
I finished the last bite, grabbed my bag, and forced myself to begin my project. “Ugh I don't want to do this, but I have to”
But when I opened my bag, I saw an unfamiliar white box tied with a cute pink ribbon.
“from what I remember, it’s not even my birthday, so where did this come from?”
Was it accidentally placed in my bag by someone? Should I open it?
Well, I can always just tie the ribbon again What's the worst that can happen….
I gently pulled the ribbon to undo itself, and opened the box. I was in awe when I found an antique hand mirror, I held it, its delicate, gold detail frame cool in my hand, the mirror itself was dull, but a little polish wouldn't bite.
I wiped the dust off with a napkin and looked into my reflection in the mirror. It made me feel like I am royalty, I couldn't stop admiring myself and my cheeks lifted up into a bright smile, where I was able to see my pearly teeth in the reflection.
~In her hand, the vintage mirror showed her as glowing and alive like she wanted to be…. that false confidence. Across the room, another mirror stood quietly, reflecting the truth she couldn’t see.
The vintage mirror in her hand quietly absorbed her energy away without her knowing, starting her doom.~
